Zendar is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
  • This world is under military occupation by the Worlds of The Leader

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Sol Loran-Zendar System[edit]

The primary is Sol Loran, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Zendar orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VI-I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VI-II) a small gas giant, (VII) a large gas giant, (VIII) a large gas giant, (IX) a ringed small ice giant, (X) a vacuum worldlet, and (XI) a dense icy planetoid belt form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Zendar[edit]

(III) Zendar is designated the mainworld. It orbits Sol Loran at a mean distance of 0.78 AU (116.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 254 days 4 hours and a rotation period of 21.5 hours. The axial tilt is 23 degrees. Zendar has a diameter of 11,397 km, a density of 4.26 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.69 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.69 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 69% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 19°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Prime and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans work across the globe.

Satellite[edit]

Zendar retains a single natural satellite, a very thin atmosphere hospitable world named Jorven:

(IIIa) Jorven (UWP H332000-0, orbiting at 12 Diameters/135,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 408 million km², Water surface area: 282 million km², Land surface area: 126 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Sol Loran-Zendar System[edit]

Zendar, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Jorven, Zendar's temperate hospitable moon, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World starport[edit]

Zendar has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World technology level[edit]

Zendar possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World government[edit]

Zendar has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
