Zamine is an industrial world with a tainted atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. The world has a climate with temperatures at the upper range of human endurance. It is a member of Darrian Confederation in the Darrian Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. 90% of the world's population is the Minor Human Race Daryen.
Astrography & Planetology[edit]
Zamine has a hot climate and a dense oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere tainted by a high oxygen level. The rotational period of Zamine is 3.6 days and the orbital period is 4 days, so a day lasts nearly all year long. The dense atmosphere tends to moderate the effects of these long days and nights.

Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Landmasses are split into numerous archipelagos, separated by narrow straits.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
All landmasses are rich in plant life; animal life is also widespread but curtailed by the world's population density.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The name Zamine is Te-Zlodh for "hopeful."
A significant population of Aslan exists on this world.
Languages[edit]
Economy[edit]
Much trade on Zamine is conducted by sea, as gravitics are prohibitively expensive. The main products of the planet are agricultural products, ores and petroleum, and weapons and mechanical parts.
The megacorporation SuSAG maintains a large non-psi drug manufacturing facility on Zamine.
The following corporations also do business here:
Historical Data[edit]
Zamine is a balkanized world with 19 different nations, of which three are not Confederation members. Through most of its history, this simply meant that its people disagreed about government. Disputes were typically settled in summit meetings and world courts rather than open warfare.
However, beginning in 1080 Zamine experienced very un-Darrian turmoil, including an escalating series of small wars, hostage takings, and violent demonstrations. During the Fifth Frontier War period a civil war raged in Baruk, and several factions in Mabek Ladh were hostile to the Confederation. Starships were advised to approach landing sites in these nations with caution.
