System Data

Gestat-Yuru System

The primary is Gestat, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.62 Sols, a mass of 0.917 Sols, and a diameter of 1.266 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a very thin atmosphere inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Yuru orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a dense atmosphere stormworld forms the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positions (V) through (VIII) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (IX) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (X) a ringed large gas giant, and (XI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer part of the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Fertha Subsystem

The companion is Fertha, a dim red subdwarf star that orbits Gestat at a mean distance of 3.01 AU (orbital position (VI), 450 million km) and has an orbital period of 5 years 166 days. It has a luminosity of 0.00152 Sols, a mass of 0.093 Sols, and a diameter of 127,000 km. (I) a sparse icy planetoid belt and (II) a vacuum worldlet orbit within the outer system. The worldlet has no satellites.

Mainworld Data

(III) Yuru

(III) Yuru is designated the mainworld. It orbits Gestat at a mean distance of 0.93 AU (139.1 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 342 days 2 hours and a rotation period of 27 hours. The axial tilt is 17 degrees. Yuru has a diameter of 11,775 km, a density of 6.12 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.02 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Corrosive, with a mean surface pressure of 29.2 bar and a composition of 82% nitrogen (N₂), 16% carbon dioxide (CO₂), 1% azane (NH₃), 1% argon (Ar), carbon monoxide (CO), water vapor (H₂O), methane (CH₄), hydrogen (H₂), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 13% of the surface is covered in lakes of superheated water kept liquid by the high atmospheric pressure, which increases its boiling point to 232°C: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 183°C. The climate is rated as Inferno and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is very active and violent weather systems driven by the star sweep across the globe.

Yuru retains a single natural satellite, a very thin atmosphere hospitable world named Joloko:

Total surface area: 436 million km², Land surface area: 379 million km², Water surface area: 57 million km².

Native Lifeforms

The stormworld lying in orbital position (V) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has exotic, extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and bizarre flora forms that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
