Vhodan is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Vhodan Subsector of Vland Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- It is a balmy tropical world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- It is an Xboat hub.
- Vhodan is located on the Vilani Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Vhodan is a binary star system.
- The primary is an unstable orange subgiant named Flare.
- The secondary is a yellow main sequence named Glick.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Milo, a very hot trace atmosphere world orbiting within the hot inner system.
- Lyal, a large exotic atmosphere world orbiting within the inner system
- Winn, a large primarily nitrogen atmosphere world orbiting within the inner system
- Devera, a hot, large, thin atmosphere desert world lying at the inner edge of the habitable zone.
- Vhodan, a large thin atmosphere tropical world designated the mainworld and orbiting within the habitable zone.
- The Nooner Belt, a relatively narrow rocky planetoid belt lying within the outer system.
- Redal, a large, very cold, primarily nitrogen atmosphere ice-covered world orbiting within the deep outer system.
- Marcus, an ice giant orbiting within the deep outer system.
- Luceros and Silak, two large gas giants, each with a family of moons, that orbit in the far outer system.
- The Lennard Belt, a broad icy planetoid belt that marks the outer edge of the system.
- A chart depicting the Vhodan system, based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Vhodan is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Vhodan has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Vhodan has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Matriarchy of Nemesis, a Human religious-political movement, was founded on Vhodan during the Long Night. Modern offshoots remain in Beyond Sector.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Vhodan has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Vhodan has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Vhodan possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Government (G)[edit]
Vhodan is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. The bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucracy or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence like the military.
World Law (L)[edit]
Vhodan has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Vhodan, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial count.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial subsector duke.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 3 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: H (extremely abundant)
- Labor: 9 (billions)
- Infrastructure: F (very comprehensive)
- Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: C (fragmented)
- Acceptance: D (very xenophilic)
- Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
- Symbols: F (extremely abstract)
