Universe/meta
The Universe is composed of everything that can be described or is “true” within a given Traveller setting; all past, current, and potential locations where all past, current, and potential events take place. Ontologically, very broadly, it is all the places where Traveller adventures happen.
In-game Terminology[edit]
The phrase “Official Traveller Universe” (OTU) encompasses places and settings included and events chronicled on the Timeline within Charted Space.
The phrase “in my traveller unverse” (IMTU) describes an individual’s or player group’s own specific Traveller setting which may contain elements, occurrences, or places not present or be described differently than the Original Traveller Universe.
Another phrase "alternate Traveller universe" (ATU) describes backgrounds divergent from the OTU.
