Third Empire of Gashikan
The Third Empire of Gashikan is a large, human suprapolity located within the Vargr Extents.
- It forms on the bones of the original Trenchans Empire, the First Empire of Gashikan, and Second Empire of Gashikan.
[edit]
A semi-standardized system of astronavigational codes have been used within and without the Vargr Extents over its history.

Description (Specifications)[edit]
The nation claims a direct lineage (albeit punctured by several disastrous collapses) to the original Gashikan, an orderly imperial nation that ruled the major continent on the eponymous planet.
Populations[edit]
During millennia of Vilani rule over Gashikan during the First Imperium, many Yileans married Vilani colonists and administrators. This pattern of intermarriage continued. Now, there are no purebred Yileans on Gashikan itself, and it is estimated that only 5% of the inhabitants of the Empire are purebred. Even so, almost every Human inside the Empire’s borders has some Yilean ancestry, often with the distinguishing blue-black skin and straight, black hair. On many worlds in the Empire these traits are considered desirable, and individuals with obvious Yilean features are frequently members of the upper class.
Human:
- Solomani: A minority, but Humans with some Solomani ancestry are found across the region.
- Vilani: The most populous demographic, though very often with mixed Yilean ancestry (including Yilean features).
- Yilean: Native, now largely interbred with Vilani.
Non-Human:
- Bwap: Given that the Gashikan region was part of the Ziru Sirka, and the dominant culture is orderly and structured, Bwaps unsurprisingly thrive here. Just as in the Third Imperium, Bwap are distributed across the Empire, invaluable to local governments.
- Eemakin: Native race of Eena (Gzaekfueg 2832), a border world made rich by trade despite its low technology level.
The Hlanssai are rarely found here, despite being otherwise common across the Vargr Extents. Being notoriously changeable and "unstable", plus known associates of the Vargr, they are greatly mistrusted.
Terragen:
- Vargr: Some border worlds hire (a better word might be "exploit") outside Vargr as a labour force, though these desperate workers are never permitted to enter polite society. On planets further within the Empire's borders, Vargr might be shot on sight, and many find the border worlds' practice of allowing controlled Vargr immigration obscene.
Language[edit]
The state language of the Empire is Modern Gashikan.
Goals[edit]
The Empire seeks to preserve the stable, centralized authority that its culture values -- especially from the chaos of the Vargr, infamously hated and feared. Many Gashikan leaders, while sharing this hatred of Vargr, realize that they are currently not a direct threat to the Empire. However, to keep the Empire unified and strong, citizens are encouraged to support strong government via their leaders playing upon fears of Vargr invasion.
Information and Media[edit]
The Ministry of Information and Safety (MIS) is technically an arm of the imperial government, but in many ways it behaves independently. The Ministry’s ostensible mission is to prevent the spread of damaging Vargr propaganda, and to promote peace and unity throughout the Empire. To accomplish these goals, its agents maintain careful control of all news and information.
