Thi'ais is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • They require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • These worldlets have very few prospect for economic expansion.
  • It is a part of the Sath Exploration program in the Aasa'tha Subsector of Course Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data[edit]

Ish'kish-Thi'ais System[edit]

The primary is Ish'kish, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.048 Sols, a mass of 0.5052 Sols, and a diameter of 769,000 km. (I-I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (I-II) an exotic atmosphere hospitable world have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (II) an insidious atmosphere hospitable world, (III) the Thi'ais Main Belt, designated the mainworld, (IV) a ringed large gas giant, (V) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (VI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Thi'ais Main Belt[edit]

(III) the Thi'ais Main Belt orbits within the outer system and is designated the mainworld. It lies at a mean distance of 0.74 AU from Ish'kish and is primarily made up of nickel-iron bodies with diameters of less than 100 km. The inner edge of the belt is considered to lie at around 0.61 AU from the star and the outer edge of the belt, with a higher concentration of carbonaceous bodies, is considered to lie at approximately 0.87 AU. The main body is named Thi'aisa, with a mean orbital distance of 0.72 AU around Ish'kish and an orbital period of 313 days 23 hours. It has a long axis of 130 km, a density of 4.83 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.007 G. It retains no atmosphere and has no hydrosphere. Mean surface temperature: -175°C.
