Links (2019)[edit]

  1. EXTERNAL LINK: Bryan Sycamore had an interesting question about borders, but it was buried inside a post on another topic. His query: how to do borders on a subsector / sector map. I've never seen any hard rules on this, but I came up with my own that I'd like to present for consideration.
  2. EXTERNAL LINK: Does anyone use this map generator? I like it a lot - it is in Java, but you can download the Java Portable launcher from PortableApps and run it without installing anything on your PC.

Notes (2016)[edit]

Tjoneslo, are the terms clockwise and counterclockwise not used in astrography?
- Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 13:11, 16 September 2016 (EDT)
They shouldn't be. Depending upon if you are looking at the galaxy from the Galactic north or Galactic south axis spinward could either be clockwise or counterclockwise. Tjoneslo (talk) 07:49, 17 September 2016 (EDT)
OK. I get it. Some of the older Traveller books use that reference.
BTW, on the e-mail chain, I asked you about your ideas on a canon classification system.

Stellar Errata (2016)[edit]

External Link: Star Update Notes

  • There's an old errata list for the sec files...
  1. 1. Change all primary Ds to Vs.
  2. 2. Change all VIs to Vs.
  3. 3. Star types K5 to M9 are not available with star size IV: change star size to V.
  4. 4. Star types A, F and G are extremely rare with star sizes II and III: change star size to V.
  5. 5. Star types M4V through M9V cannot have habitable worlds: subtract 6 from the decimal classification.
  6. 6. If two or more stars in the same system are size D, change the last one to size V.
  7. 7. Unless the primary star is size II, III, or IV, change remaining companion size D stars to size V.

Smelchak Note (2016)[edit]

Add note explaining differences between Tz and Lk codes.

Multiple World Distinction/s (2016)[edit]

This section does not belong in this article. It belongs in the Manual of Style (where is exists) because the naming convention is for the wiki articles only.
- Tjoneslo (talk) 13:54, 8 August 2016 (EDT)
It look s like SStefan did that back in 2008. Easy enough to move.

Check Math on Astrographic Distances Data Table (2015)[edit]

  • Would someone please check my math on the Astrographic Distances Data Table? I know I have made several mistakes, but I am not having a good head day and could use a second mind to see the simple mistakes I am missing. Please help. Thank you!
  • Maksim-Smelchak (talk) 13:15, 2 April 2015 (EDT)

  • I was lazy about the differences between an Imperial ly and a Solomani Terran ly as well. That needs to be fixed. Thanks!

World Distinctions (2015)[edit]

Under the section Astrography (Imperial Science) Multiple World Distinction/s, there are two abbreviations used to identify sectors. The two letter version as noted. There isn't a complete list, but it should be under the Sectors page or one of the linked sub-pages.

  • The second is a four character (first four characters of the name) used by the Category:T5 Second Survey to note out of sector ownership and other cross border items. This also needs to be included.
