Tabric is a nonindustrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water.

  • The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Utt Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

System Data[edit]

Warran-Tabric System[edit]

The primary is Warran, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 5.34 Sols, a mass of 1.46 Sols, and a diameter of 2.115 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, (III) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world – orbital position (II) is empty. (V) Tabric orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VII) a dense atmosphere bigworld, (VIII) a ringed very large gas giant, (IX) a dense rocky planetoid belt, and (X) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(V) Tabric[edit]

(V) Tabric is designated the mainworld. It orbits Warran at a mean distance of 3.92 AU (586.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 6 years 155 days and a rotation period of 28.5 hours. The axial tilt is 17 degrees. Tabric has a diameter of 14,895 km, a density of 5.49 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.16 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 2.08 bar and a composition of 85% nitrogen, 14% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 99.7% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.75m. Mean surface temperature: 12°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Tabric retains a single natural satellite, an exotic atmosphere stormworld named Usban:

(Va) Usban (UWP G6A1266-8, orbiting at 20 Diameters/300,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography[edit]

Total surface area: 697 million km², Water surface area: 676 million km², Land surface area: 21 million km².

Native lifeforms[edit]

Tabric has extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions power the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Tabric has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World technology level[edit]

Tabric possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World government[edit]

Tabric is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members. Or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Or the organization may be more typical organization with positions of power inherited.
