Sha'a is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • Warning: humans are not welcome within the Sath Alliance. Those few humans that venture into its territory are generally met with a hostile reception and are closely monitored at all times.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Shaak'tha-Sha'a System[edit]

The primary is Shaak'tha, a yellow giant star. It has a luminosity of 65 Sols, a mass of 2.92 Sols, and a diameter of 13.135 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a vacuum inner world, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (IV) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (V) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world – orbital position (I) is empty. (VI) Sha'a orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld forms the outer system – orbital position (VII) is empty.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(VI) Sha'a[edit]

(VI) Sha'a is designated the mainworld. It orbits Shaak'tha at a mean distance of 2.57 AU (384.5 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 2 days 151 hours and a rotation period of 28 hours. The axial tilt is 23 degrees. Sha'a has a diameter of 9,363 km, a density of 3.43 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.46 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.89 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 19% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 73% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 48°C. The climate is rated as Hot and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star oceans sweep across the globe.

Satellite[edit]

Sha'a retains a single natural satellite, a vacuum worldlet named Atha'sa:

(VIa) Atha'sa (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 35 Diameters/325,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 275 million km², Water surface area: 201 million km², Land surface area: 74 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Shaak'tha-Sha'a System[edit]

The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (V) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive extremophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

Sha'a, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

This system is controlled by the Khas'ahi Faction of the Sath Alliance.

World starport[edit]

Sha'a has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Sha'a possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World government[edit]

Sha'a has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
