Sandhaven is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and both non-agricultural and preindustrial in nature.
- These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- Despite the challenging of living on asteroid colonies, this settlement is at a moderate population status of over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in size.
- The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- These worldlets are working towards being an industrial world but lack adequate resources to do so. Local leaders are diligently working towards the expansion of this settlement's industrial manufacturing capability.
- It is a member of the Swanfei Free Worlds in the Forcett Subsector of Gateway Sector.
- About 60% of the population is composed of humans and other sophonts.
- About 40% of the population is composed of Swanfeh.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
The largest asteroid, Gandry (Bl 00630-A) has a steady population of over one million, living in settlements tunneled into the rocky crust. Lying in the inner, rocky belt, it serves as the local trading post and transhipment point for the 300 million belters who live in-system. The two planetoid belts are separated by a small gas giant, Reynor, which is the source of unrefined fuel scooped up and transported to Gandry for processing.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
It is a member of the Swanfei Free Worlds.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Sandhaven has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Population[edit]
300,000,000 (split between multiple asteroid settlements)
World Demographics[edit]
- Swanfei, 40%
- Other, 60%
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Sandhaven possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Sandhaven is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be monarchy, with titles passed to family members.
