The S-223 Moon Raven class Covert Surveillance Scout was originally an TL–13 auxiliary warship: it is now more commonly seen as a commercial transport.
Description[edit]
The S-223 Moon Raven class Covert Surveillance Scout was originally designed as an experimental long range scout vessel. It was developed for a military bid and competition. The design prototype made it through several rounds of trials and test flights. Eventually, it came to two designs, the other design lacks several of this design's special features. However, it was from a trusted ship building company with a proven track record. After a special promotional tour to the pleasure moons of Sigma Fulroomi Denko, the deal was signed and this design’s fate was sealed. The prototype sat in a hangar for several months. Eventually a resourceful military logistics officer acquired the ship through obscure means and undertook some black ops on the behalf of a grateful, but quiet government. Officially under private charter service on loan from the boatyard, the government intelligence community paid generously for the ship’s use. Eventually its legendary exploits proved too much. A few retired operators wrote best-selling media releases. Several more of the design were built. Like a lucky charm, every, would be spec ops group had to have one. It is constructed as a long-range design.

Some commercial vessels sell off surplus subcraft, with hanger space generally being converted into auxiliary cargo holds. |

History & Background[edit]
This vessel was designed and built in a failed attempt to secure a lucrative naval contract they fell off the RADAR so to speak. Defenseless, they rely on their speed to escape. The powerful computers come from a series of near AI, noted for the dry sarcastic tone. Some crew think they are unintentionally, hysterical. The ship is highly autonomous and actively helps crew whenever possible. Some versions carried advanced robots which were literal hands and eyes for the ship.
The modular cargo bay was always subject to mission specific payload packages which varied wildly over the operational life of the ships in service. The front companies for these operators typically had some sort of tongue in cheek, gallows humorous names. As if they were not trying too hard. After it became widely known what they were and what they were for, trios of scouts retiring, could trade in their ship shares and pool resources to get one of these matte black beauties. The titanium and molybdenum hulls are famous. They are never painted. Markings and decals tend to be muted, even in civilian use. Crews usually affect sunglasses and ear-piece comms just to maintain the charade.
