Quat is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Alasim Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]
Icho-Quat System[edit]
The primary is Icho, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.67 Sols, a mass of 0.94 Sols, and a diameter of 1.266 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, (II-I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (II-II) an exotic atmosphere radworld. (III) Quat orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VI) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VII-I) a ringed large gas giant, (VII-II) a ringed small gas giant, and (VIII) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(III) Quat[edit]
(III) Quat is designated the mainworld. It orbits Goji at a mean distance of 0.81 AU (121.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 274 days 15 hours and a rotation period of 32 hours. The axial tilt is 26 degrees. Quat has a diameter of 10,783 km, a density of 5.23 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.80 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.93 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 71% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 5°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 365 million km², Water surface area: 259 million km², Land surface area: 106 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Icho-Quat System[edit]
Quat, the mainworld, has primitive mesophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Quat has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level[edit]
Quat possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
World government[edit]
Quat is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
