No Hope has a tainted unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. No Hope, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Kem.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

No Hope is a member of the Dagudashaag Main.

Native Lifeform: Chronos Worm[edit]

The Chronos Worm or Nokhopii worm are a carnviorous burrowing vermiform creature. Believed extinct.

History and background[edit]

This colony was originally named Nokhopii (Anglic: Nokhopii). The planet was truly full of natural beauty. Then the Vilani colony utterly vanished without trace. 10,000 men, women and children disappeared leaving behind an empty settlement. Everything organic in the camp had vanished. A second colony was established and it too vanished. This time it was able to pinpoint the disappearance to a three month period corresponding to the summer. The planet was considered jinxed.

The Vilani renamed it Imar (Anglic: Imar), the Solomani renamed it to No Hope, and remained uncolonized until 756 when ICE established a small research station which was ordered to record everything. That summer the orbiting station witnessed the deaths of their team-mates on the surface as the summer heat brought a carnivorous worm to the surface of the planet in such abundance that the entire surface of the continent seemed to squirm. The colonists hadn't a chance. Subsequently orders were given to hunt down and totally exterminate these creatures and successful colonization is believed to have finally been achieved.
