Nestol is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- It is a member of the Enlightened in the Utt Subsector of Halcyon Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.

System Data[edit]
Afrini-Nestol System[edit]
The primary is Afrini, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.102 Sols, a mass of 1.02 Sols, and a diameter of 1.399 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) an exotic atmosphere inferno world, and (III) a thin atmosphere hospitable world. (IV) Nestol orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VI) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (VII) a vacuum worldlet, and (VIII) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IV) Nestol[edit]
(IV) Nestol is designated the mainworld. It orbits Afrini at a mean distance of 0.98 AU (146.6 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 337 days 13 hours and a rotation period of 24.5 hours. The axial tilt is 18 degrees. Nestol has a diameter of 12,912 km, a density of 4.96 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.91 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 1.73 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 73% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 20°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite[edit]
Nestol retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Plet:
- (IVa) Plet (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 25 Diameters/323,000 km)
Mainworld geography and topography[edit]
Total surface area: 524 million km², Water surface area: 383 million km², Land surface area: 141 million km².
Native lifeforms[edit]
Nestol has extensive, abundant native life, with organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Nestol has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level[edit]
Nestol possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World government[edit]
Nestol is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World military[edit]
- Troop Strength:
- Army: 30 battalions in a Nestol Panzer Grenadier Division and a Nestol Royal Dragoon Brigade
- Marines: 3 battalions are available for protected forces duty with some imported equipment. They are joking referred to as Space Rangers, a term they don't find humorous.
