Morrow is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Sarudis Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- This world lies on The Descent Star Lane.

System Data[edit]
Soldier-Morrow System[edit]
The primary is Soldier, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.42 Sols, a mass of 0.825 Sols, and a diameter of 1.263 million km. The inner system consists of (I-I) a vacuum inner world, (I-II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Morrow orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V-I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V-II) a ringed large gas giant, (VI) a small gas giant, (VII-I) a large gas giant, (VII-II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, and (VIII) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
(III) Morrow is designated the mainworld. It orbits Soldier at a mean distance of 0.62 AU (92.8 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 196 days 8 hours and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 33 degrees. Morrow has a diameter of 9,568 km, a density of 6.88 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.93 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.97 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 73% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 33°C. The climate is rated as Hot and experiences major seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe.
Satellites[edit]
Morrow retains two natural satellites, a vacuum worldlet named Panath and a exotic atmosphere worldlet named Rumu:
- (IIIa) Panath (UWP G100365-8, orbiting at 35 Diameters/335,000 km)
- (IIIb) Rumu (UWP Y3A0000-0, orbiting at 45 Diameters/430,000 km)
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
This world is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
This world has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
This world has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 288 million km², Water surface area: 210 million km², Land surface area: 78 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Soldier-Morrow System[edit]
Morrow, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (XX) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive cryophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Morrow (2031 Far Home is a major mercenary clearing house, a supply depot and naval base.
- It is the site of Camp Mercy, the largest military hospital in the rimward half of Far Home Sector.
World Starport[edit]
Morrow has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Technology Level[edit]
Morrow possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government[edit]
Morrow has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Military[edit]
The factions here can agree on little, except they do not want to fall subject to the Sath. Native built system defense boat squadrons hope to buy time, delay and harass more advanced attackers long enough for friendly forces to arrive with reinforcements. This theory as yet to be put to the test, and it remains to be seen who would truly take an interest if this world fell. Frost Bite class System Defense Boats are representative of these designs, which has been deployed by AstroForce.
A decorated naval hero, attached to a group of military advisers on loan from the Rimward Federation, may have arranged for a small number of more advanced Nassin class System Defense Boats to be sprinkled in among the local boats to reinforce and train their formations in current tactics. The system currently deploys ten squadrons of SDBs. '''Captain Tenbru''' has acquired quite an admiration for the culture and martial history of Morrow. He even likes the local music and poetry. Making friends amid the political turmoil, he knows Sath aggression and expansion must be checked to protect the Rimward Federation. He is sensitive to the traditions and is careful not to offend his hosts. He wants to keep the sometimes insular planetary leadership open to trade and development opportunities. He has even started training with local weapons. Some local leaders believe that neutrality and isolation can prevent foreign aggression. He works hand in hand with several off world diplomats and ambassadors.
