Minor is a rich, nonindustrial world.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- It has high-grade living conditions and life on this world is much admired by off-worlders.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Nuzuu Subsector of Verge Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
- It is a chilly tundra world, with a climate of low temperatures.
- This world is directly administered from Lagi.
- The world is home to a small community of Suerrat.
- This world lies on the Nuzuu Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Minor has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Minor orbits at the outer edge of the star's narrow habitable zone.
It has a very slow rotation period, with a local day lasting around a standard week (170 standard hours).
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Minor is a Big World between 15,200km and 16,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1.1G and 1.5G. The horizon will appear about 5.7km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Minor has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
- Temperatures during the 85 hour long day are uniformly low, though tolerable.
- Temperatures during the 85 hour long night plummet to extremely low levels.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Minor has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- During the night, regions of fractured, unstable pack ice may form on the ocean surface.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Minor is almost entirely water-covered, with most of the land areas arrayed in a near perfect ring around the world from pole to pole, though broken into many islands. This mysterious world shows signs (in geological and geomagnetic data and studies of both the seabeds and the few exposed rocks on the surface) of once having been tidally locked to its star, though it is now in an orbit that would only rarely create such conditions. Although the processes that caused this orbital shift are not well understood, it appears to have occurred millions of years ago and seems to be related to the orbital dynamics of the system's two gas giants.
The world is considered hospitable, despite the low temperatures and the relatively high surface gravity. It was colonized from nearby Lagi long ago and retains a colonial relationship even now.
Minor is a member of the Nuzuu Main, a medium sized Main of worlds adjacent to the massive Vilani Main, and also close to the spinward edge of the Suerrat expansion. Minor today has a dominant Vilani-derived population with a significant minority of Suerrat, mirroring the makeup of Lagi. While long dominated by the tech savvy Vilani, there is nonetheless a thriving sailing culture here, influenced by the challenges of buoyancy on a high gravity world. Storms here are incredibly violent, and most vessels are built with that in mind. The sea life is largely native to Minor and broadly compatible with Humaniti. Though some native species display remarkable smartness, there are no recognized sophonts native to the world.[2]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Minor has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Minor has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- Around 250,000 Suerrat (making up less than 5% of the population) reside on the world.
Languages[edit]
The following languages are most typically heard:
- Anglic: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Na'ans: the most widely spoken Suerrat language.
- Vilani: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Yaudal, a commonly spoken Suerrat language.
Urbanization[edit]
Suerrat cities are very crowded. Suerrat populations are at a density where other species find the mental health of the inhabitants deteriorates; by contrast, Suerrat thrive in these conditions.
- Suerrat like natural surroundings and will incorporate vegetation and even small animals into their urban areas, wherever possible.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Minor possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Minor has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. A colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Minor has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Minor, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: C (very abundant)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 4 (very limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 6 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
- Symbols: 9 (somewhat abstract)
