System Data

Achenak-Meroan System

The primary is Achenak, a yellow-white subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 17.6 Sols, a mass of 2.4 Sols, and a diameter of 3.729 million km. The inner system consists of (III-I) an exotic atmosphere radworld, (III-II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (IV) a trace atmosphere inner world, (V) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, and (VI) Meroan, designated the mainworld – orbital positions (I) and (II) are empty. (VII) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world orbits within the habitable zone. (VIII-I) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII-II) a large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Pythora Subsystem

The companion is Pythora, a dim red main sequence star lying approximately 785 AU (117.4 billion km) from Achenak. It has a luminosity of 0.004 Sols, a mass of 0.273 Sols, and a diameter of 414,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (III) a ringed very large gas giant, and (IV) a dense icy planetoid belt form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(VI) Meroan

(VI) Meroan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Achenak at a mean distance of 3.1 AU (463.8 million km), within the H– region of the inner system. It has an orbital period of 3 years 191 days and a rotation period of 29 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Meroan has a diameter of 13,002 km, a density of 5.72 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.05 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.03 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N₂), 21% oxygen (O₂), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by trace airborne contaminants of organic origin that produce a psychological response in humans. Approximately 97% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.85m. Mean surface temperature: 24°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is very active and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans surge across the globe.

Meroan retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere worldlet named Changu:
