Lamas Subsector is a poor backwater with a Coreward half almost entirely composed of Non-Aligned, non-Imperial and Client State worlds. There is no Duke in Lamas subsector and no capital. Many of these worlds eke out a living as commercial trade centers between the Imperium and Vargr empires coreward. Corsairs are more active in Lamas than other subsectors in Deneb.

History & Background[edit]

The native Lurent, famed for their widespread planetoid trading ships, periodically launch expeditions to nearby worlds thought to harbour corsairs. Mercenary forces are always used, although they might be transported aboard Lurent starships. Expeditions are launched no more often than one every few years but when one is being prepared the mercenary marketplace across the sector can be affected.

Major Historical Events Timeline[edit]

Originally designated District 233, Lamas was admitted into the Imperium in 510.

Era: New Era[edit]

The Lamas subsector is defended by the 315th Fleet, headquartered at Lamas (Deneb 1309). The 315th fought in the Fifth Frontier War as the 1st Fleet, defending the intersection of the Jewell (C), Regina (C), Vilis (F), and Lanth (G) subsectors in the Spinward Marches. With the realignment of the Imperial fleets in the early 1110s, the 1st Fleet's designation was reassigned to the fleet assigned to the Core Subsector (Core Sector/C), and the former 1st Fleet became the 315th. Since the end of the Fifth Frontier War, the lst/315th was rotated into Deneb in order to allow pride of place to go to those fleets that retained their historic wartime designations.[1]
