World Starport[edit]

Kug has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Technology Level[edit]

Kug possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Kug is governed by a Corporate Polity with a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. A company town, or world. The typical corporate run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

World Timeline[edit]

  • 640-672: The Third Imperium, its fleets returning to the region after the Civil War, regains territory the Sydites have claimed in their absence.
  • 673: The Sydymic Empire tries to sue for peace, only to lose two more worlds to the Imperium before the Imperials finally accept a temporary cease-fire.
  • 674: A massive Imperial fleet arrives in the Sopater system -- the Sydite capital -- and begins to deploy for a siege. However, the siege is a ruse; as the Sydites settle into a defensive routine, the Imperials launch an all-or-nothing planetary assault. The defenders of Sopater put up a tremendous fight, resulting in the almost total destruction of infrastructure on the planet.
    • Sopater is subsequently renamed Khuur -- "victim".
  • 675: With news of the fall of the homeworld, the Sydymic Empire unravels. By the end of the year, the Emperor is dead, he and his extended family assassinated by the Sydymic Fleet Admiral Asmocchek. As the acting head of state, Asmocchek negotiates surrender terms with the Imperials.
  • Most of the core worlds of the Empire subsequently choose to realign themselves into a trade confederation rather than have anything more to do with the Imperials than necessary.
  • 778: The confederation of Sydite core worlds becomes the Khuur League. The League guarantees the sovereignty of the various worlds not already under Imperial occupation, subject to certain limitations on armed forces.
