Kiness is a barren garden world with no overt population, government, or law level.

  • It is a garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
  • This world is valuable property, as a garden world, and will likely soon be populated...
  • It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Baradis Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

System Data[edit]

Fallon-Kiness System[edit]

The primary is Fallon, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.42 Sols, a mass of 0.825 Sols, and a diameter of 1.263 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Kiness orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (V) a large gas giant, and (VI) a ringed small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Ginega Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Ginega, a red subdwarf star. It has a luminosity of 0.0074 Sols, a mass of 0.134 Sols, and a diameter of 212,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a vacuum iceworld, (III) a large gas giant, (IV) a ringed small ice giant, and (V) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Kiness[edit]

(III) Kiness is designated the mainworld. It orbits Fallon at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (101.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 225 days 12 hours and a rotation period of 38 hours. The axial tilt is 21 degrees. Kiness has a diameter of 9,873 km, a density of 4.99 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.70 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.92 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N2), 20% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 48% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 11°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas cross the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Kiness retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere worldlet named Mardon:

(IIIa) Mardon (UWP Y110000-0, orbiting at 30 Diameters/296,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography[edit]

Total surface area: 306 million km², Land surface area: 159 million km², Water surface area: 147 million km².

Native lifeforms[edit]

Kiness, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Kiness does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World technology level[edit]

Kiness possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.

  • These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
  • This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
    • Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
    • Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.

World government[edit]

Kiness has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
