Jagd is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Sotri Subsector of Lishun Sector in the Domain of Antares.
- This solar system contains the gas giant which is the homeworld of the Jgd-ll-jagd, a sophont species and minor race.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Monostellar System[edit]

System Data[edit]
The system includes other gas giants. None are suitable for Jgd colonization, but both feature numerous Jgdi outposts and resource-exploitation bases.
The planetoid known by the old Vilani name of Pim is large enough to maintain a trace atmosphere. It supports a starport and a Scout Base.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
It appears that a sufficiently high level of heavier gases permitted the formation of complex molecules on Jagd; a layer or two of dense clouds of various chemicals (such as ammonia) then gave them an environment in which to evolve, and continuous roiling activity in the planetary atmosphere prevented heavy compounds from sinking into the lethal depths too easily.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Native Sophont (NIL): Jgd-ll-jagd[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
As well as being their homeworld, Jagd forms the hub of a clade of Jgd-il-Jagd colonies. The clade now encompasses systems within 23 parsecs. The Imperium considers the Jgd a friendly associate species with autonomous government, mostly because establishing relations outside of simple trade is all but impossible.
Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]
Jagd, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.
World Starport[edit]
Jagd has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level[edit]
Jagd possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government[edit]
Jagd is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Economy[edit]
The basic Jgd technology involves manipulation of crystalline matter which they derive from various communal microscopic life-forms among the ammonia clouds; crystallography is as central to their technological history as metallurgy is to Humaniti's.
Several Jgd refueling facilities orbit Jagd, and one is specifically designed and designated for their alien visitors. The system is completely automated and run by a sophisticated expert system: credit transfers are handled through any of several brokerages on Pim. As long as they require nothing but fuel, visitors need never communicate with a live Jgd-il-Jagd.
