Hornet Class Gunships are short ranged and have trouble keeping up with imperial fleet movement. They are often left behind as a picket or assigned to an outpost. They rely on their very heavy hull armor to keep them out of trouble because they can't power screens nor dampers. They are fast, streamlined and agile so they are often deployed for close orbital support of marine commandos. They are a product of the Odew (Zarushagar 1116) Boatyards. They serve with the 9th Fleet among others.
Primary weapons are one triple turret beam laser, one dual fusion gun turret, and four triple missile turrets.
