Hoaz is a world suited to becoming an agricultural world, but with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 sophonts, but lacks the capability to produce or process sufficient resources to export its projected agricultural produce. The world has been set aside to preserve indigenous life forms, to delay resource development, or for other reasons. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Zeda Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Hoaz, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. This is the homeworld of the Ancari, an extinct Minor Race.  During the Long Night this world was named Khiruushkuu.

Hoaz is the outer moon of Ancarit, one of four worlds orbiting Cardon, the system's primary star.

Ancarit is a garden world with a tropical climate, breathable atmosphere, and a rich variety of animal and plant life. The planet is held in trust by the Ministry of Colonization; it is classified as an Imperial reserve and is monitored by the IISS.

History and background

In the ancient past Hoaz was extensively terraformed and seeded with lifeforms from Ancarit. These plants and animals have formed a stable, self-perpetuating eco-system and today from the basis of the world's largely agricultural economy. A number of universities have research facilities on the world studying the ecosystem.

Until about 18,000 years ago Ancarit was home world to a minor race, the Ancari. The race became extinct directly following a period of intense inter-society warfare.

Hoaz is noted for its wine festival, held during the first two weeks of the Imperial year, which attracts connoisseurs from across the subsector.
