A long-settled region of the Aslan Hierate. Bordering the Great Rift, it is wealthy due to trade passing between the core Aslan sectors and the transrift Colonies.

Meta-History & Background[edit]

Hlakhoi Sector was originally designed by Marc W. Miller and appears in the Classic Traveller Atlas of the Imperium (GDW, 1984).

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Trailing regions of the sector are a stronghold of the Tralyeaeawi, one of the most powerful Tlaukhu clans. As well as lesser Aslan clans, their vassals here include Droyne (enigmatic as always), Humans (including the odd minor Human race the Murissi), and the Krayl'luk species originally from Afawahisa Sector to spinward.

Historical Eras[edit]

The Tokouea'we clan originated here. Vassals of the Tralyeaeawi, their territory included half a dozen star systems centered on Atuakhtea. Females from the clan operated immensely profitable livestock and agricultural businesses, making the Tokouea'we very wealthy. The clan became known for their touchiness, aggression, and a tendency to escalate conflicts.

In 2362 Aslan (20 Imperial), during the Cultural Purge, the leading ahriya of the clan convinced the Tokouea'weko to divest the clan of its holdings in Hlakhoi and prepare for a mass exodus across the Great Rift. The primary cause was a ‘reframing’ of the narrative by females from the leading ahriya. By cultivating a narrative in which the Tokouea'we would essentially fight their way out of the Hierate, across the Great Rift and into the pristine lands of the Trojan Reach Sector, these ahriya were able to convince the Tokouea'weko that such a journey would be honourable and worthwhile.

The Tokouea’we were thus among the first clans to flee the Cultural Purge for the trans-Rift colonies.

Reastirlao, one of the largest Hierate corporations, grew from a small trading company which once served parts of Hlakhoi Sector.
