• This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions make it dangerous to visitors.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Ch'naar Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
• During the early First Imperium days, this world was known as Khasherliguu.
• This is the homeworld to the Hiidamo, a Human ethnic group, arguably a Variant Human Race, descended from Vilani settlers.

History & Background (Dossier)

This world was colonized during two vastly separated periods.

• Period 1. Hiilevian Hiidamo: Early in the First Imperium, colonists settled in the lowest valleys they could find. Over several thousand years of living on the world, they adapted to the planet in some unique ways, including via strict breeding laws. Today the descendants of these early colonists are barrel-chested and leather-skinned, with large ears and small, dark eyes. Their blood carries an extraordinary amount of hemoglobin and their skin is rich with melanin. Calling themselves the Hiidamo, they have virtually forgotten that they were ever strangers to the planet.
• Period 2. Hiilevian Newcomers: After the First Survey, newcomers were attracted to the world by the biological wealth in its oceans. But these settlers were standard Humans, using technical equipment to survive in the very thin atmosphere. Many new colonists were odd freaks. Their attitude was subtle at first, but ultimately degraded into outright war.

It took many deaths to see that the races just could not settle their differences, and could not live together. The Hildamo claimed one major continent, leaving the newcomers the other continent. The two groups have little contact; they do not trade or otherwise deal with each other.

By the Second Survey the newcomers had renamed the world Hiilev, or at least their portion of it.
