Ha'arn is a desert world with a thin tainted atmosphere. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Old Suns Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ha'arn, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Arash.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Ha'arn is a member of the Guukian Cluster.

History and background[edit]

Ha'arn was originally colonized by Vilani in -7130 but during the period known as the Long Night the survivors grew extremely insular. At the time of their rediscovery they had formed a totally irrational belief that all non-human sentients were disease-ridden.

During the Long Night the world was claimed by the Guukian Federation, a small pocket empire.

Point of Interest: Xeno-Medical Research Campus at Tamä Moon[edit]

In 82 the Imperium elected to build a Xeno-Medical research facility on Tamä, Ha'arn's largest moon, in the hope that close contact with non-humans in a safe environment might result in the eradication of the phobia. Over the centuries, this policy has worked and the local inhabitants of Ha'arn are now extremely proud of their research station despite losing its official status in 365.

Today the Tamä Centre is renowned throughout its Quadrant of Dagudashaag for its successful treatment of unusual xeno-diseases, despite its relatively small size and facilities. The facility has always been at the forefront of innovative practices. Until recently, cross-species research has always been hampered by the inability of one race to fully understand the mental processes and cultural background of another.
