Gimmick

Gimmicks are interesting pieces of equipment which can be useful to the player characters in their pursuit of their goals, but which are not required.

• The category includes both physical objects, Artifacts, and well as mystery resources such as Handwavium.
• Traveller-style Gimmicks are also known as McGuffins or MacGuffins.

Description (Specifications)

Gimmicks can include unusual weapons, vehicles, vessels, or other special items not normally available for purchase.

Gimmicks may also include a mystery resource that is fought over, but often isn't very well defined such as Handwavium.

History & Background (Dossier)

Often gimmicks can be momentary diversions which keep the player's interest.
