Gaad is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Bolivar Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Gaad, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Khaaga And.

Astrography and planetology

Gaad is a member of the As on As Cluster. Gaad possesses a ring of ice and carbonaceous rocks.

Point of Interest: Lattuce Industry

Although Gaad is classed as an agricultural world nothing is grown on the planet surface. Instead it has a carbon and ice ring system on which the planet's fifty subsidized spaceships harvest and tend a naturally occurring plant life form. Lattuce is a high volume industry on Gaad. The farmers are more akin to belters, almost the entire population is dedicated to the harvesting, tending, export, and sale of lattuce.

The origins of lattuce is unknown. It is believed to be a genetic manipulation of naturally occurring plant life native to the world below. Although recent work by xeno-geneticists have found similarity to other ecosystems which has led to theories it may be a hybrid instigated during the Rule of Man to provide food sources for future colonies.
