Description (Specifications)[edit]

It is a very low tech animal-powered vehicle designed for commercial use.

Hull / Suspension[edit]

A boxy hull constructed from iron and wood.

  • Length: 4.2m, Width: 1.6m, Height: 2.7m.
  • Overall volume: approximately 18.2m³ (1.3 dTons).
  • Unloaded Weight: 900 kg.

The overall volume measures the vehicles maximum dimensions and includes road clearance. The enclosed volume of the hull is much lower.

The vehicle is fitted with a wheeled suspension system mounted on axles.

Power / Transmission[edit]

Up to 4x Beasts of Burden (typically 4x horses, capable of moving up to 2,800 kg).

The animals are harnessed to a 6.5m long shaft attached to the front axle.

Performance[edit]

  • Cruise Speed: 5 kph, Top Speed: 15 km (trotting).
  • Range: 10 hours at Cruise Speed.

Crew / Passengers[edit]

The body of the vehicle is an open topped box. The crew facilities consist of an open bench seat located at the top-front: up to two passengers may be seated externally, adjacent to the driver, though such arrangements are cramped. The driver's position is fitted with reins to control and steer the animals.

The rear of the vehicle is designed to carry cargo.

  • Cargo Storage: 9.8m³ (0.7 dTons).
  • Maximum Load: 1,900 kg (including passengers).
    • Maximum Gross Weight: 2,800 kg.

Equipment[edit]

Nutrition for the draft animals. A tarpaulin to cover the cargo.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

It is an early creature-powered vehicle designed to transport passengers, mail, and incidental cargo.
