Factory Rock is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Daro Subsector of Glimmerdrift Reaches Sector.

System Data[edit]
There are three occupied worlds in this system:
- 1. Mariposa G5543C4-E (Orbit 3)
- Until 1115, unoccupied.
- Should be treated as an amber zone. Puzzle world. Occupied by Ginsharian, Ral Rantan, and other interests. Access limited to certain public areas to all outsiders.
- Known Corporate interests operating on this world:
- Temirzhan Industries: Basic construction materials
- Takas Trading: Anubian. Runs casino and resort. Open to public.
- BioGenZIP Rumored to be a Ginshar based operation in genetic modification catering to the extremely wealthy. A subsidiary BioGenFP manufactures high quality portable food.
- Shapurin Heavy Industry (SHI). Has ties to Ling Standard Products (Megacorp). Makes and repairs mining equipment used in system. Supports Factory Rock starport with limited construction and repair of ships.
- 2. Factory Rock B100301-E (Orbit 7)
- A planetoid near the asteroid belt. Home to the commercial and public starport. Primarily a mining operation by Cyntrialian and Anubian corporations.
- 3. Factory Camp Y300100-D (Orbit 11)

History & Background / Dossier[edit]
Factory Rock and the starport there are primarily a commercial operation associated with asteroid mining in the system.
- Mariposa, a secondary world, is rumored to have opened several casinos and resorts along with other business since the Ral Ranta arrived.
- Access is sometimes restricted.
- The world should be considered an amber zone, even if the system is not.
World Starport[edit]
Factory Rock has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- Factory Rock and the starport are placed close to the asteroid belt to facilitate mining operations in the outer zone of the system.
World Technology Level[edit]
Factory Rock possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
- Technology in the system is generally about TL 14. Cytrialin interests have moved in terraforming equipment to increase habitability of the system's planets.
World Government[edit]
Factory Rock has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Military[edit]
- As of 1116 Ginshar operates a small fleet of System Defense Boats and other warships alongside Ral Rantan merchants in the system. The main defense fleet consists of 4 to 6 (exact number unknown) Ginsharian SDB's of between 1000 and 2000 tons.
- Ginsharian marines and Ral Ranta mercenaries make up the ground forces in roughly battalion strength at most..
World Economy[edit]
It is well known locally for producing high grade lanthanum ores along with other abundant rare earths.
Trade Data[edit]
