Ersharsa is a water world with 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. The world lies substantially outside of the habitable zone of the system and environmental temperatures are well below the freezing point of many gases. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Iiradu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Ersharsa, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Enshiun.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Ersharsa is located on the Vilani Main.
Ersharsa orbits a gas giant, well outside the habitable zone of the star Ershaauur, but intense tidal forces has melted the rocky core and original ice layers turning it into a literal world of water under an icy crust and intensely frigid atmosphere.

Point of Interest: Native Sophonts[edit]
Electromagnetic, gravimetric, and sonar sensors suggest there is some form of organized, possibly intelligent, life around the volcano communities around the core of the planet. All attempts to communicate have failed — with no signs the signals even reached their targets. Very little is know about the deep dwellers as the pressure 1,000 km down is over 30,000 atmospheres and has crushed all probes sent to investigate.
History and background[edit]
The Ershaauur system was explored by Vilani prospector but ignored in favor of better prospects elsewhere. In the early 510s an IISS survey made a more complete study and reported the unusual liquid body of the planet. Establishing a research base showed that the world possessed unusual native life and free oxygen trapped beneath the icy crust. Many of the native fish-worms are edible to humans; an export trade supports nearby systems and sends delicacies and exotics across the sector. Tourists come to see the displays of bio-luminescent life in the dark waters. The atmospheric geysers where air and water pressure accumulate sufficient pressure to burst through the ice crust is another attraction.
