Dhudzva has a tainted unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Ascendancy Pact in the Raelas Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
How the system named Dhudzva (Knoellighz 1740) E34258D-8 Ni or ‘Mystery’ otherwise in Gvegh, manages to maintain the mainworld’s atmosphere and minuscule water availability is still an anomaly to scientists in 1105. Two dwarf stars, one a Blue-tinted White Dwarf, (F5 D), the other an Orange-heavy Red Dwarf, (M4 D), seem to duel each other in as they orbit each other as a binary star pair of opposites. Planetology wants to blame that Dhudzva lies on the innermost limit of the habitable zone to allow this world some level of Vargr presence in Raelas Subsector. The system owns only one Gas Giant and all vessels can expect to conduct wilderness refueling. Water is at such a premium on the mainworld that vessels are prohibited from tapping the small lakes at its poles.
With a small, 4800km diameter and a 0.25 surface gravity this world has developed vertically at times. The Thin and Tainted atmosphere requires Filters to separate the sulfur and sulfur dioxide from the remaining, breathable oxygen that gathers in the polar region. Yet the reek is constant to the Vargr scientists here. Emigrating citizens often find that they are an olfactory offense to others as they travel to other worlds and often must undergo rigorous cleanings and washings of gear to be rid of the stench. The mainworld is veined by volcanic magma flows at the equator and tropics and yet somehow manages to allow polar bands of life to attempt to tame the sulfurous atmosphere. What little standing water of the discovered 20% hydrosphere is greedily recycled by plant transpiration action. Rivulets from the poles and small weather systems that recycle the arctic regions are in desperate opposition to the violence of the equatorial latitudes. Sub-arctic and temperate zones are littered with cracked deserts that are dotted with small patches of succulent cacti the size of trees. At these latitudes, the plants hold onto as much water as possible and defend it with alkali compounds. Vegetation on Dhudzva is more relaxed and welcoming at higher altitudes on mountains above lava- or sea-level where the atmosphere is cooler.
One-hundred thousand Vargr of the Ascendancy Pact are ensconced at the northern pole and maintain a former outpost originally intended to study Dhudzva. At its first erection of the outpost and Downport was D-rated. As of 1105, supplies and machinery have dwindled and degraded the port to a sad E. That this world is on the Rimward edge of the polity and is generally ignored for the Coreward, growing edge means that Dhudzva is once again becoming a frontier ignored and neglected. Though there are outlying observation posts, there is only one Startown, named Ringlanding, about the landing field. Governed by a scientific method, Civil Service Technocracy, this world is losing the interest of the Pact polity. At 1109, the scientists again petition the Ascendancy Pact for funding to import contragravity systems to move the Starport to the skies and into Tech Level 9. However, other issues concerning the Representatives redirect their attentions once more.
A tall, long-legged and spindly grazer animal ranges between the deserts and the forests. Found in striding and stampeding herds, this white-furred creature is able to tolerate the alkali fluids of the cacti and consumes their fruits. Then it retreats to the kinder climes of the sub-arctic, forested regions. The white strider is the dominant species of animal on Dhudzva. Biologist Vargr are considering transplanting the species to other desert worlds to preserve it.
History-Era: Virus Era 1130s[edit]
Virus sweeps over this region of space but largely ignores the mainworld of Dhudzva due to a lack of traffic. Vampire Fleets merely pass through, skimming for fuel at the Gas Giant before moving Coreward.
History-Era: Empress Wave 1159[edit]
The psionic phenomenon passes this world largely unnoticed due to a lack of or too miniscule presence of psionics. However, the Wave does trigger unforeseen stampedes and migrations of white striders back and forth across the equatorial magma fields. Many counts are lost in the frantic movements and confound ecologists still stationed on Dhudzva.
