Demar is a pre-agricultural, moderate population rich garden world with over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.

  • Garden worlds are known for their near-ideal utopian environments conducive to most sophonts, plants, animals, and other forms of life.
  • It is a pre-agricultural world with an environment suitable for large scale agricultural and livestock industries that have not yet been widely developed.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Veesene Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

System Data[edit]

Chaster-Demar System[edit]

The primary is Chaster, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.778 Sols, a mass of 0.96 Sols, and a diameter of 1.299 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, and (II) a standard atmosphere hospitable world. (III) Demar orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a thin atmosphere hospitable world forms the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positions (V) through (X) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (XI) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (XII) a small gas giant, (XIII) a ringed large gas giant, and (XIV) a small ice giant form the outer part of the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Aaron Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Aaron, a red subdwarf star that orbits Chaster at 11.3 AU (orbital position (VIII), 1.69 billion km) and has an orbital period of 38 years 281 days. It has a luminosity of 0.0074 Sols, a mass of 0.134 Sols, and a diameter of 212,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (IV) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Demar[edit]

(III) Demar is designated the mainworld. It orbits Chaster at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (101.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 209 days 1 hour and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 12 degrees. Demar has a diameter of 9,312 km, a density of 5.38 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.71 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.79 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 64% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 22°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellites[edit]

Demar retains two natural satellites, a trace atmosphere worldlet named Merott and a vacuum worldlet named Faldan:

(IIIa) Merott (UWP Y110000-0, orbiting at 11 Diameters/102,000 km)
(IIIb) Faldan (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 35 Diameters/326,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography[edit]

Total surface area: 272 million km², Water surface area: 174 million km², Land surface area: 98 million km².

Native lifeforms[edit]

Demar has extensive native life. Their metabolic functions power the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Demar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Demar possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World government[edit]

Demar has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
