System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Deewaa is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Deewaa has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Deewaa has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The world has abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche.

  • It has spawned a variety of swift predators, ambush predators, and megafauna.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Deewaa is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.

  • Travel to this world is prohibited.

It is the homeworld of the Jirtoygh, a technologically sophisticated non-human minor race. The IISS have managed the world since it was first contacted by the Imperium and have been extremely reluctant to release information. Little is known about the Jirtoygh - information regarding their shape, size, trohics, pyschology, origins, and history have never been made public.

The world is said to have a sombre, mournful, haunted feel - it is currently bearing witness to the impending extinction of the race.

The Jirtoygh are believed to have contracted a fatal disease from the crew of a safari ship that broke the world's quarantine and red zone classification in 487.

  • Sir Beckon Verbat, a local knight with an estate on the world of Droun, was a hunter of some renown and was seeking new trophies for his hunting lodge. He had no thought for the effect he could have on the Deewaa ecology, and Emperor Cleon IV had him banished even before the full extent of the catastrophe was known.

The IISS have made efforts to save the Jirtoygh, but so far to no avail[2].

World Starport (St)[edit]

Deewaa does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

World Population (P)[edit]

Deewaa has a population of 6,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • The population entirely consists of Jirtoygh.

Until the late 400s the Jirtoygh population numbered in the tens of millions.

  • There are estimated to only be around 6,400 survivors at the start of the twelth century.

Urbanization[edit]

The remnants of the Jirtoygh civilization have largely vanished, subsumed by native flora, battered by countless storms, and worn away by the passage to time.

World Languages[edit]

The following languages are most commonly heard:

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Deewaa possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

Local technology is largely remnant tech, centuries old and recovered from ruins or preserved caches.

World Government (G)[edit]

Deewaa is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.

World Law (L)[edit]

Deewaa has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 5 (scarce)
  • Labor: 2 (hundreds)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

World Culture[edit]

  • Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
  • Symbols: 1 (extremely concrete)
