Chant is a rich, nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This world is rich with high-grade living conditions, a good climate, and a non-harmful environment. Immigration registration for this world is always in high demand.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Chant Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
- This world has a nearby Imperial Way Station.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Chant is a member of the Sylean Main.

Mainworld Atmosphere[edit]
The atmosphere is 28 percent oxygen, 71 percent nitrogen, with trace amounts of carbon dioxide and other gases.
Mainworld Topography[edit]
Chant is noted for extensive subterranean aquifers and reservoirs. These support thousands of animal species, mosses and fungi, most of which never emerge above the surface. Some plants push their way upward through Chant's porous crust to protrude leaves, absorbing sunlight.
Lifeforms[edit]
Photosynthesis on Chant is based on retinal instead of chlorophyll, so most plants are purple, lavender and sometimes pink. Whichever side of the planet faces the star Ami is covered in flowering plant life, while on the dark side the plants retract into the earth to drink from subterranean water sources.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Economics[edit]
Most of Chant's nine million inhabitants farm its unusual flowering plants for export into foreign markets.
Politics[edit]
The Duke of Chant has a home here but spends the majority of his time three parsecs away at Vvrin, the subsector capital, or at Moot deliberations.
