Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance, and the Traveller5 ACS format, using the T5 Shipyard v16.05.07 written by Robert Eaglestone.

A Border Prowler class Provincial Cruiser is a class of small warships designed for multiple missions.

• It is a military ship and a Provincial Cruiser or Frontier Cruiser.

Description (Specifications)

The normal configuration is Jump-4 capable with 200 tons of cargo. Removing the demountable fuel tanks reduces the range to Jump-3, but increases cargo capacity to 300 tons. The demountable tanks are mounted as two tanks, one with 46 tons of fuel, the other with 49 tons. The ship is equipped with fuel scoops and fuel purifiers.

A special module was built which fits in the cargo bay and provides staterooms and life support for 100 troops in middle passage. A low passage module was also built which provided for 250 men in low passage, 50 tons of equipment, and staterooms for 10 command personnel. A third module which provides passage for 20 troops, 20 tons of equipment, and semi-external carriage of a pair of 40-ton Attack Shuttles.

Usual armament on the ship is a Factor-2 Nuclear Damper projector, one triple sandcaster turret, four triple laser turrets organized into two batteries, two double fusion gun turrets organized as one battery, one PA Barbette, and two triple missile launcher turrets organized as one battery.

The designed mission of the Border Prowler class is to maintain the Imperial presences upon the most far-flung borders. It has also provided an excellent ship for long-range scouting missions. In case of war, it also is suitable as a commerce raider.

YMC Modular Merchant Cruiser. A gunned merchant variant. This version ships without the particle accelerator barbette, and replaces the fuel pods with ship's boats. Spare tonnage is allocated for additional passengers and low berths.

CFC Colonial Frontier Cruiser. A colonial variant. This version replaces most of the cargo hold with fuel, troops barracks, and a full 50-ton missile bay. The fuel pods are traded out for gigs or fast boats.
