Description (Specifications)[edit]

Interstellar Relations: 1116[edit]

The Union is officially and determinedly neutral in the affairs of Human polities, and the great majority of its own Human population is similarly disinterested.

Relations with the K'Kree are fairly good, since the Akeed don't eat meat. Considerable trade exists with the Two Thousand Worlds, creating an avenue for Human-K'Kree trade and diplomacy that might otherwise not exist. Even the Lords of Thunder have what might be labelled good relations with the Akeena Union.

The Akeena Union also trades with neutral worlds -- both Human and K'kree -- in Hkur! Subsector.

Military & Intelligence (Force Projection)[edit]

The Akeena Union has a small fleet of fairly advanced Jump-2 vessels. The Akeed are not expansionist, and their vessels are intended to operate on interior lines of communication. No system save interdicted X'kuur'qu'io Nu is more than two jump-2s from the fleet base at Akeen. Small tripwire squadrons are stationed in all systems, with the main fleet elements at Akeen. Actual capabilities and armament of Union vessels are unknown to outsiders.

Technology & Trade (Economy)[edit]

The Akeen are fairly advanced, at TL-13, though their technologies are very alien and not compatible with Human systems. Technological base away from Akeed itself is lower; the various subject worlds haven't built up a major industrial or technological base, and don't seem keen to do so.

Trade Routes (Economic Astrography)[edit]

Almost every Akeena system is at jump-2 distance from its nearest neighbours, which include another Union member world.
