Ai'akh is a non-agricultural, preindustrial, icy vacuum world, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with little or no atmosphere and nearly all of its water frozen.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
- It is a part of the Sath Exploration program in the As'Kaa Subsector of Course Sector, which is part of the Distant Fringe.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It lies within the Moat Rifts.

System Data[edit]
Ah'kaath-Ai'akh System[edit]
The primary is Ah'kaath a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) an insidious atmosphere radworld, (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (III) Thakath, a ringed small gas giant: (IIIa) Ai'akh is its only major satellite, and (V) a corrosive atmosphere bigworld form the outer system – orbital position (IV) is empty. All of the worlds retain satellites.
(III) Thakath[edit]
(III) Thakath is a ringed small gas giant that orbits Ah'kaath at a mean distance of 0.79 AU (118.2 million km), within the outer system, and has an orbital period of 1 year 81 days. It has a diameter of 23,500 km and an atmosphere consisting of 88% hydrogen (H2), 12% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), water vapor (H2O) and other trace gases. It is a deep blue color with faint darker blue swirls and bands of white high altitude clouds. It retains a ring system and a single major satellite.
Satellite[edit]
Thakath retains a ring system and one major satellite:
- (IIIr) Ring System (UWP YR00000-0, extending to 2 Diameters/50,000 km)
- (IIIa) Ai'akh (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 4 Diameters/95,000 km)
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IIIa) Ai'akh[edit]
(IIIa) Ai'akh is the only major moon of (III) Thakath and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 4 diameters (95,000 km), with an orbital period of 5 days 8 hours: it is tidally locked to Thakath. The axial tilt is 7 degrees relative to Thakath. Ai'akh has a diameter of 2,637 km, a density of 4.16 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.16 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Thakath cause constant geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Vacuum. The world is exposed to relatively high levels of background radiation due to its proximity to Thakath: emission rates exceed 12 rads per hour. Around 8% of the surface is covered in sheets of crystalline water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -167°C.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 22 million km², Land surface area: 20 million km², Ice surface area: 2 million km².
