457-973 has a tainted, unbreatheable atmosphere and little available surface water. The system supports a population between 10 million and 100 million. This world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Rhylanor Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb.
Astrography & Planetology[edit]
457-973 is a member of the Spinward Main.
457-973 is interdicted by the Imperial Interstellar Scout Service to protect the Pelosians — a local developing race — from exploitation. A small human population studies the race from a remote underground installation.

Native Sophont: Pelosian[edit]
The Pelosians are native to 457-973. After official first contact was made late in the 1100s, it was learned that they call themselves Ebur. As this is still not well known outside of RISS until after 1205, "Pelosians" continues to be the primary name the Regency uses.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
457–973 is interdicted by the IISS to protect a local developing race from exploitation; a small human population studies the race from a remote underground installation. [3]
There is a Red Zone at 457–973. Conspiracy theorists keep trying to link it with the research station at Vanejen, but this seems unlikely as the Imperium would place its station at a location actually within the interdicted system if there were something there needing to be studied. [4]
Pelouse has been interdicted by the IISS and RISS to protect a developing race but contact is being undertaken by the RISS, as the achievement of TL–5 is usually considered sufficient to open previously interdicted worlds to outside contact. However, the interdiction is still in effect against commercial contact, as the RISS contact process is not yet complete. the name is a lyrical translation of the race's name for their world, which means "lawn."
