Scutum-Centaurus Arm
The Scutum-Centaurus Arm is the next major spiral arm of Galaxias to coreward of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm.
- It is part of Galaxias or the "The Milky Way."
Description (Specifications)[edit]
LOCAL GALACTIC STRUCTURE:
The Scutum-Centaurus Arm or Scutum-Crux Arm (the extension of the Scutum Arm lying on this side of Galaxias) is a major arm that lies coreward of the minor arm known as the Sagittarius-Carina Arm. The arm begins as the Scutum Arm on the Far side of the Galaxy, eventually becoming the Scutum-Centaurus Arm and possibly splitting to rimward from the Norma Arm which winds away to coretrailing around the far side of Galaxias. The Scutum-Centaurus Arm itself also winds away to coretrailing around the far side of Galaxias, but apparently does not return to the near side. It is perhaps seen as the outermost rimward arm on the Far Side when seen from a corespinward bearing (035°-045°) from Charted Space. What may lie within this arm opposite the Galactic Core remains unknown.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Little is known for sure concerning this region of the galaxy. Some Scouts have made mention of something in the region "out there" . Other than that, most is either speculation or wild hearsay.
