System Data[edit]

Ryosa System[edit]

The primary is an unnamed orange subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 4.67 Sols, a mass of 2.3 Sols, and a diameter of 4.61 million km. The inner system consists of (III) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world – orbital positions (I) and (II) are empty. (V-I) Ryosa, designated the mainworld, and (V-II) a standard atmosphere hospitable world have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (VI) a ringed large gas giant, (VII) a very large gas giant, (VIII-I) a small gas giant, and (VIII-II) a ringed small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Dwarf Star Subsystem[edit]

The companion is an unnamed dwarf star lying approximately 2,350 from the primary. It has a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.11 Sols, and a diameter of 8,450 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the outer system. No significant body retains satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(V-I) Ryosa[edit]

(V-I) Ryosa is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 1.39 AU (207.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 30 days and a rotation period of 22.5 hours. The axial tilt is 164 degrees. Ryosa has a diameter of 6,977 km, a density of 6.34 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.63 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.62 bar and a composition of 83% nitrogen (N2), 16% abiotic oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen and by the lack of water vapor in the atmosphere. Approximately 0.5% of the surface is covered in pools and lakes of liquid water. Mean surface temperature: 63°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Ryosa retains a single natural satellite, a tiny cratered vacuum worldlet named Curlew:

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 153 million km², Land surface area: 152.3 million km², Water surface area: 700,000 km².

  • The oxygen in the atmosphere is abiotic in origin, produced by the photocatalytic reaction between the high levels of UV energy radiating from the star and titanium dioxide (TiO2), which is found in surface minerals such as ilmenite.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Ryosa, the mainworld, does not have native life.

The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the habitable zone) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist within every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
