Patinir is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and are both non-agricultural and non-industrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • They require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • The worldlets are, for the most part, unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • These worldlets have very few prospect for economic expansion. This world contains a archaeological site with suspected high-tech remnants of the now-vanished Ancients precursor race. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Aramis Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector and in the Domain of Deneb. Patinir , as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Because of the two jump bridges maintained in Pretoria Subsector of Deneb Sector, Patinir is connected L'sis Main to Trailing by a Jump-1 route, ranging throughout Pretoria and entering both Sabine and Lamas subsectors.

Monostellar System[edit]

Patinir Monostellar System
Star Name Hierarchy Color Classification Notes
Patinir Primary Primary Yellow-White F3 V

Dominated by a large gas giant, the system has only a few small planets and satellites, all of little importance. Circling the central star, however, is a broad asteroid belt that is the primary source of mineral wealth in the system. In orbit ahead of, as well as trailing, the gas giant are accumulations of asteroids at the Trojan points. These Trojan points are each the site of a self-contained space colony of about 480,000 persons population. Effectively identical, the space colonies each operate a refinery smelter, which processes are taken from the larger asteroid belt which orbits starward of the gas giant.
