The Nova class Light Carrier is a warship.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Designed and built for the PSN of the Protectorate Space Navy, this is a class of small escort carrier. They are capable of 1 G acceleration, and have 1 agility. The size of a Destroyer, the streamlined flattened sphere hull is capable of ocean refueling and is fitted with fuel scoops but no on board fuel purification. It carries enough fuel for two consecutive jumps. Its major offensive power is from its (46) 30 ton Viking Class Fighters, organized into four squadrons. It carries a platoon of 26 marines. The weapons load is configured for point defense with 60 plasma guns to protect versus enemy fighter and missile strikes which are viewed as the major threat. There are twenty triple missile turrets organized into two batteries. Its command and control center is equipped with DRADIS and a model 6 computer. They avoid directly engaging the enemy battle line because without their fighters, they are largely defenseless.
