Meleset is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.

  • This world is administered by Alasar

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

Star Name Hierarchy Color Classification Remarks

Meleset Companion Secondary Yellow G1 V 355 AU from primary

System Data[edit]

Plushku System[edit]

The primary is Plushku, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 12.84 Sols, a mass of 1.94 Sols, and a diameter of 2.449 million km. The inner system consists of (I) an extremely hot small gas giant orbiting close to the surface of the star, (V) a vacuum inner world, and (VI) an exotic atmosphere hospitable world – orbital positions (II), (III) and (IV) are empty. (VII) an exotic atmosphere hospitable world orbits within the habitable zone. (VIII-I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, and (VIII-II) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Anteror-Meleset Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Anteror, an ordinary yellow main sequence star lying approximately 355 AU from Plushku. It has a luminosity of 1.102 Sols, a mass of 1.02 Sols, and a diameter of 1.399 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (III) Meleset, designated the mainworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (IV) a dense atmosphere stormworld orbits within the habitable zone. (V) a ringed large gas giant forms the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Meleset[edit]

(III) Meleset is designated the mainworld. It orbits Anteror at a mean distance of 0.78 AU (116.7 million km), within the H– region of the inner system. It has an orbital period of 180 days 16 hours and a rotation period of 21 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Meleset has a diameter of 14,845 km, a density of 5.11 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.08 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 3.78 bar and a composition of 76% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), 1% Xenon (Xe), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the extremely high atmospheric pressure and the high percentage of inert gases. Approximately 93% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.7m. Mean surface temperature: 17°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe.

Meleset retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Bysana:

(IIIa) Bysana (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 25 Diameters/375,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 692 million km², Water surface area: 644 million km², Land surface area: 48 million km².

  • the extremely high atmospheric pressure causes tremors, drowsiness, breathing difficulties (including oxygen toxicity) and decreased neural activity.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Plushku System[edit]

No world in the system is known to have native life.

Anteror-Meleset Subsystem[edit]

Meleset, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the subsystem is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Meleset has a routine quality starport.

  • A Class-C Starport Facility has minimal if any shipyards and can only perform extremely limited repair work.
  • This facility has many very skilled personnel who can perform surprisingly sophisticated repair work despite the limited facilities.
  • This facility has refueling infrastructure and limited refining capabilities. One may purchase unrefined fuel here.
  • Starports of this class rarely have both a Lowport and a Highport.

World technology level[edit]

Meleset possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft.

World government[edit]

Meleset has no well-defined government structure.

  • In many cases, tribal, clan or family bonds predominate.
  • The typical power source of this government is an Pantocracy or Chaos.
  • The typical power structure of this government is a Confederation (Anarchy).
