History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Malárteagh Treágtacht was formed in 559 by representatives of several dozen Caledonian clan Credit Pools. These credit pools - a traditional facet and function of Caledonian clans - had been a traditional part of Caledonian clan life, helping life some clans from destitution to prosperity, and occasionally immense wealth.

In 559, the chieftans and "counselors" (finance lieutenants) of several key Caledonian clans signed Articles of Charter pooling their resources, and setting expectations for reaping rewards and paying for losses - which which there have been relatively few in the past 400-odd years.

Activities[edit]

The Malárteagh Treágtacht plays a key role in bringing some sense of commercial order to business affairs around the Deep, and in surrounding states; a speculative spike here can affect commerce in the neighboring areas of the Imperium and the Aslan Hierate, as well as the other states in Reaver's Deep and the Scotian Deep.

The Financial Network[edit]

Malárteagh Treágtacht serves as a nexus for a large, constantly-changing network of smaller exchanges - some broad-based, others dealing in narrow markets and derivatives, in highly complex, adaptive and nearly unregulated (outside the bounds of Caledonian contract law) system. The exchange is comprised of thousands of traders, working in an exchange complex in "The City", the financial district of Caledon's capitol city of Selkirk - and a much bigger network of offices connected via Caledon's immense fiber-optic network, and (throughout the rest of Reaver's Deep) by courier.

In Game Terms[edit]

The Malárteagh Treágtacht employs, and when necessary subcontracts, trusted help to guard the couriers that bring currency and information between systems.
