To reestablish trade dominance in the coreward half of the Glimmerdrift Reaches sector and check the expansionist Shukikikar League.
History & Background (Dossier)
During the early years of the Tri-Empire War, the Shukikikar League had almost completely conquered the Glimmerdrift Trade Consortium and Federated Republic. The governments of these two polities formed a new, combined government on Kinake (world) in 1090 calling their new alliance the Glimmerdrift Federation. This was a concatenation of the titles of the two previous polities. The new government began to aggressively recruit nearby systems to join them in their fight to check the Shukikikar League's expansion. They found many systems readily willing to join in a joint defensive effort. By 1101, the Shukikikar League had been defeated and a tenuous peace was reached in 1103. Since then, the Glimmerdrift Federation has sought to increase its political, military, and trade status. In 1116, the Federation added a number of systems previously part of the Farreach Margravate as that polity collapsed into anarchy.

Technology & Trade (Economy)
Military & Intelligence (Force Projection)
There are four battle fleets within the Glimmerdrift Federation Navy. Smaller task forces are dispatched from these parent units to conduct patrols, maintain internal security and probe across the borders. They have access to a range of technology from TL–10 to TL–14. Military units range from naval security ship's troops to garrison units. The lower technology worlds and those with smaller populations, typically have smaller or less sophisticated units assigned. The Glimmerdrift Security Battalion is a typical unit of this type.
