Description (Specifications)[edit]

Many are not armed, but they tend to feature the highest jump drive capability their technology level will allow. Their mission is to relay data, messages, and orders between the command elements of a given fleet formation and its constituent squadron commanders to maintain unit cohesion, even when deployed across several different star systems. They have a secondary role of collecting data and conducting surveillance. Even the designs that are lightly armed, have well trained crews that are drilled to jump to safety at the first sign of trouble, rather than risk their intelligence falling into enemy hands.
