Felid is an agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Polosh-Felid System[edit]

The primary is Polosh, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.102 Sols, a mass of 1.02 Sols, and a diameter of 1.399 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum inner world, (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, (III) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (IV-I) Felid, designated the mainworld, and (IV-II) a dense atmosphere hospitable world, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (V) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VI) a small gas giant, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, (VIII) a large gas giant, and (IX) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(IV-I) Felid[edit]

(IV-I) Felid is designated the mainworld. It orbits Polosh at a mean distance of 0.88 AU (131.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 298 days 13 hours and a rotation period of 21.5 hours. The axial tilt is 44 degrees. Felid has a diameter of 11,888 km, a density of 4.64 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.78 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.63 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 62% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.35m. Mean surface temperature: 29°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and experiences major seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe.

Satellite[edit]

Felid retains a single natural satellite, a vacuum worldlet named Utrich:

(IV-Ia) Utrich (UWP F300367-9, orbiting at 20 Diameters/235,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 444 million km², Water surface area: 275 million km², Land surface area: 169 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Polosh-Felid System[edit]

The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (III) (within the H– region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Felid, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-II) (within the Habitable Zone region of the inner system) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the system is known to have native life.

World starport[edit]

Felid has an excellent quality starport.

  • A Class A Starport Facility has very well developed shipyards and is capable of producing first rate starships.
  • This facility has many very skilled personnel who can perform not only major repair work, but overhaul work as well.
  • This facility has advanced refueling and refining infrastructure. One may purchase practically any kind of refined fuel here.
  • Almost every starport of this class possesses both a Lowport and a Highport. Sometimes multiple ports of each type.
  • Peace footing (government modifier x0.85). Port Capacity: 42,500 dTons

World technology level[edit]

Felid possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government[edit]

Felid has a Representative Democracy government.

  • It is a government by elected representatives.
  • The typical power source of this government is a Republic.
  • The typical power structure of this government is a Unitary State .
