Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

Monostellar System[edit]

Evi Salis Monostellar System
Star Name Hierarchy Color Classification Remarks
Evi Salis Primary Yellow G3 V

System Data[edit]

The primary is an unnamed ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world. (III) Evi Salis orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV-I) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (IV-II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a ringed small gas giant, (VI) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (VII) a large gas giant, and (VIII) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Evi Salis[edit]

(III) Evi Salis is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 0.67 AU (100.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 212 days 19 hours and a rotation period of 36 hours. The axial tilt is 42 degrees. Evo Salis has a diameter of 7,768 km, a density of 4.68 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.52 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.54 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the relatively high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 1 rad per hour. Approximately 59% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 31°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Evi Salis retains a single natural satellite, a very thin atmosphere marginally hospitable world named Scarback:

(IIIa) Scarback (known UWP ?322???-?, orbiting at 8 Diameters/62,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 190 million km², Water surface area: 112 million km², Land surface area: 78 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Evi Salis, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Scarback, Evi Salis's marginally hospitable moon has extensive native life, consisting of minute multicellular organisms that can be found in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-I) has extensive native life, consisting of minute multicellular organisms that can be found in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The very cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-II) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
